Tender for Films on Currency Notes

The Reserve Bank of India desires to produce two short films of 30 seconds each for telecasting on Doordarshan and other TV Channels.

The first film tentatively titled 'Touch, Feel, See, Tilt' would focus on four security features of Rs.500 note. The second film will highlight the benefits of non-stapling of notes to the general public and also seek their cooperation in implementing the clean note policy initiated by RBI.

Agencies interested in taking up this job should have a minimum of two years experience in film production area, should have already undertaken and completed such jobs for a budget not less than Rs.15 lakh may approach Press Relations Division or visit the RBI website (www.tenders.rbi.org.in) for a detailed brief. The jobs have very tight deadlines. Agencies confident of adhering to tight schedule only need apply.

Separate bids clearly marked as technical (creative)/ financial bid for Films on Currency should reach in sealed covers to the General Manager, Press Relations Division, 23rd floor, Reserve Bank of India, Central Office, Shahid Bhagat Singh Road, Mumbai 400 001, latest by Wednesday, January 22, 2003.

Touch, Feel, See, Tilt

     

TOUCH

:

Quality of paper which is thicker in forged notes.

     

FEEL

:

Intaglio printing which is raised in genuine notes and is absent on forged note.

     

SEE

:

Security thread which, if seen against light, appears to be a continuous line in good notes. In forged notes, security thread will appear as a broken line

     

TILT

:

Numeral 500 normally invisible can be seen in the green patch on the right corner of the note, if the note is tilted at an angle. Numeral 500 in the centre of the notes can be seen in GREEN at eye level but appears BLUE if the note is tilted.

Clean Notes

  1. Rusted/multiple stapling not only reduce the life of notes but also makes opening of such packets very difficult;
  2. Public should insist for fresh/clean notes from the banks;
  3. Public should neither accept stapled notes from banks nor make payments in stapled notes to the banks;
  4. Public should keep the notes in good condition by not folding or writing anything on the notes.

For information:

The technical bid should comprise a detailed concept of the films as visualised by the agency and preferably give two or three alternative approaches. Financial bids should comprise the cost of production, inclusive of indoor/outdoor shooting, animation (if envisaged), model fees (if any), processing and correction charges, applicable taxes, etc. Time to be taken for completion of the films may specifically be mentioned in the technical bid. In case, any agency has suggestions, beyond the brief, it may give those details additionally along with relevant costs.
