19 ਮਈ 2023 ₹2000 ਮੁੱਲ ਦੇ ਬੈਂਕ ਨੋਟ - ਸਰਕੂਲੇਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ- ਲੀਗਲ ਟੈਂਡਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ ਆਰ.ਬੀ.ਆਈ ਐਕਟ, 1934 ਦੀ ਧਾਰਾ 24(1) ਦੇ ਤਹਿਤ ਨਵੰਬਰ 2016 ਵਿੱਚ ₹2000 ਮੁੱਲ ਦਾ ਬੈਂਕ ਨੋਟ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਮੁੱਖ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ₹500 ਅਤੇ ₹1000 ਮੁੱਲ ਦੇ ਬੈਂਕ ਨੋਟ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਰਕੂਲੇਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ, ਦੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਟੈਂਡਰ ਦਾ ਦਰਜਾ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਅਰਥਵਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਮੁਦਰਾ ਲੋੜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ₹2000 ਦੇ ਬੈਂਕ ਨੋਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਸਰਕੂਲੇਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਰ ਮੁੱਲ ਦੇ ਬੈਂਕ ਨੋਟ ਲੋੜੀਂਦੀ ਮਾਤਰਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਹੋਣ ਕਰਕੇ ₹200
